About Us

Charlotte County Fire & EMS is a full-service career department that provides fire suppression and rescue operations and pre-hospital emergency medical care and transport. Specialty units within our department include special operations (HAZMAT and technical rescue), marine operations, tactical medic, and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF).

So what does it take to be a Firefighter/EMT or Firemedic?

Here's what's required

  • Firefighter Certificate of Compliance from the Florida State Fire Marshal 

     

  • State of Florida Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification 

    Dependent upon position applied for

     

  • Current American Heart Association BLS provider, Course C or ACLS provider 

    Dependent upon position applied for

     

  • Be at least 18 years of age 

     

  • Complete FIRETeam and CPAT Testing
